Maureen O'Hara was a renowned American actress and singer of Irish descent. The fiery, passionate roles she played in a variety of American films were appreciated by the beautiful green-eyed beauty sporting flame-colored hair and eyes. Her attractive look and natural beauty was well-loved. She was known in Hollywood as the "Queen of Technicolor". Her roles on screen reflect her brave, strong spirit that fought for her survival and fame in a male-dominated society. She was referred to as the "tough Irish girl" and was not willing to sacrifice her image or respect to get the roles she deserved by merit. Throughout her career in the world of film she stood up against discrimination and unfair treatment against women actors and for this, she gained numerous followers. The autobiography of her, "Tis Herself", was released in 2004. It is an honest and transparent account of her life, including the struggles she faced while climbing the ladder to success. She was an adventurous lady who was not frightened of carrying out her own stunts. In the course of her career she was in more than 60 films, and gained an enormous amount of fame throughout the world. After she left Parra and getting married, she met Charles F. Blair Jr. in the year 1968. Blair was a former brigadier and chief pilot and an innovator in transatlantic aviation. After a few years of the couple's marriage, O'Hara made the decision to take a break from her career. The joy she felt was only temporary since Blair died in a tragic plane crash in 1978. She was diagnosed with uterine cancer in the same year. She was treated for it and then had surgery immediately. She eventually recovered. She suffered from six heart attacks, a short-term memory loss, and diabetes type 2 throughout the years.
