Rosamund Pike

Born in London in 1979, Rosamund Elizabeth Pike is an actress. She was the only child of a classically trained violinist mother Caroline (Friend) as well as an opera singer father Julian Pike. Her childhood was spent traveling across Europe as a result of the work of her parents. Pike went to Badminton School in Bristol, England and was a part of the National Youth Theatre. When she was in a National Youth Theatre production of "Romeo and Juliet", she was first noticed and accepted by an agent. However, she continued her studies in Wadham College, Oxford, where she took classes in English Literature, eventually graduating with an upper-second class with an honors degree.Pike has appeared in a variety of UK TV series which included Wives and Daughters (1999), before scoring an auspicious debut in a feature film as the stunning beauty "Miranda Frost" in the James Bond film, Die Another Day (2002); When the film came out at the age of 23, she was just 23. Although her first film was a huge-budget action film, her involvement was mostly in smaller independent films like Promised Land (2004) and The Libertine (2004). She won the Best Supporting Actress Award at The British Independent Film Awards for this film. Pride & Prejudice (2005) was her first feature film. A brief excursion into Hollywood film followed with the action flick, Doom (2005) as well as the thriller Fracture (2007) however, she returned to her smaller-scale films featuring outstanding performances in three films: An Education (2009) and Made in Dagenham (2010) as well as the lead opposite Paul Giamatti in Barney's Version (2010).As she continued her acting career in England, Pike appeared in the spy spoof, Johnny English Reborn (2011) and played the character of "Andromeda" in the epic sci-fi thriller Wrath of the Titans (2012).
