Thora Birch

 Thora Birch was born March 11 on 1982. She is an American actress, producer, and director. In 1988 she made her feature film debut in the film Purple People Eater. For the role, she received a Young Artist Award as "Best Young Actress under Nine Years of Age". Birch made her name in the role of a child-star by appearing in films such as All I Want for Christmas (1991), Patriot Games (1992), Hocus Pocus (1993), Monkey Trouble (1994), Now and Then (1995), and Alaska (1996).Her debut role in the film industry came in 1999 when she played Jane Burnham in the highly popular film American Beauty, for which she earned a BAFTA nomination for Best Supporting Actress. In the following year, she played in Ghost World (2001) as Enid. She was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress. Birch was nominated for an Emmy Award for her performance in Homeless To Harvard The Liz Murray Story in 2003. Other films she has appeared in include Dungeons & Dragons (2000), The Hole (2001), Silver City (2004), Dark Corners (2006), Winter of Frozen Dreams (2009), and Petunia (2012).After having off from acting, Birch resumed her career in 2016 and has since been in a variety of independent films. Birch played the role of Whisperer Mary/Gamma in season 10 of The Walking Dead (2019-202). Birch was the oldest of the children born to Jack Birch (and Carol Connors) in Los Angeles. Birch was born in Los Angeles, and her family's ancestral surname was Biersch is of German-Jewish, Scandinavian, French-Canadian and Italian descent. "Thora" is her birth name. It is derived from the Norse god Thor thunder and lightning. If she were a child, that would be her full name. Kian Bolt Birch is her younger brother. Both of her parents played actors in adult films , and also appeared in Deep Throat. They were hesitant to promote Thora due to their previous experience working in the entertainment industry. However, the babysitter noticed Thora acting out commercials, and convinced them to show Thora’s picture to agents. Birch was just four years old when she got her first major break when her babysitter invited her to audition for a Quaker Oats advertisement.
