Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was born in Dallas,
Texas, to Gayle (Gaston), an executive director for national operations at Mary
Kay, and Freddie Wright, a pharmaceutical executive. She grew up in San Diego,
California. At 14 years old she started her professional career in modeling.
She worked in Paris and Japan. After graduating from high school, she decided
to become an actress. She was cast in the soap opera Santa Barbara (1984), in
which she was nominated 3 more times for Daytime Emmys. In the initial season of
the show, she fell in love with fellow cast member Dane Witherspoon, whom she
married in the year 1986. In addition, she appeared in The Princess Bride
(1987) in the title role. When she left Santa Barbara, she was given the lead
role in Denial (1990), alongside Jason Patric. In 1990, she was in State of
Grace (1990) in which she was introduced to actor Sean Penn, by whom she had a
daughter named Dylan Frances, and a son, Hopper Jack. After taking a few months
off, Robin was back to Hollywood with one the best role of her career: She was
Tara in The Playboys (1992). She was absolutely stunning and brilliant. She was
a star in Toys (1992) the film that was which was a comedy starring Robin
Williams. It was hilarious. Wright played the role of Jenny in the blockbuster
blockbuster Forrest Gump (1994), acting alongside Tom Hanks. For her
performance as Jenny she was awarded an award nomination for the Golden Globe
Award. She was offered a minor part in The Crossing Guard (1995) which starred
Jack Nicholson. After turning down 14 roles, she landed the title role of
MGM/UA's Moll Flanders (1996), directed by Pen Densham, and co-starring Morgan
Freeman and Stockard Channing. Alongside William Hurt, she was later featured
in Erin Dignam's Loved (1997).
