Dormer, born 11 February 1982, is an English actress. Her achievements include
winning an Empire Award, and receiving nominations for a Critics' Choice Award
along with two Gemini Awards and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. Born in
Reading, Berkshire, Dormer gained notoriety for her character of Anne Boleyn on
The Tudors, a Showtime show The Tudors (2007-08), that earned her acclaim
across the board. In Sweet Nothings (2010), she made her stage debut and was
also the Duchess of York in Madonna's W.E. (2011) and Private Lorraine in
Captain America the First Avenger (2011). Her performance in After Miss Julie
(2012) at the Young Vic was praised. Dormer gained international attention and
accolades for her performance as Margaery Tyrell in the HBO series Game of
Thrones (2012-2016) and Cressida in the two final parts of The Hunger Games
franchise (2014-2015), which rank as her highest-grossing films. She also
voiced of Onica in The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (2018), Sara Price Jess
Price in The Forest (2016), and Irene Adler/Moriarty for CBS's Elementary
(2013)-15. Her role as Penny Dreadful: City of Angels the miniseries about
Penny Dreadful, was highly praised. Dormer was born 11 February 1982 in
Reading, Berkshire (England) as the daughter of Gary Dormer & Claire
Richards. She is also the sibling of Samantha Dormer and Mark Dormer.
